Evangelizing through the Catholic Arts

Want to End Your Week with a Smile?

Smile! That’s what I was doing the whole way home after visiting with some students yesterday! What a pleasure it was to visit Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Greensboro, NC yesterday! I got to share my new book, Adventures of Faith, Hope, and Charity – Finding Patience, with the Kindergarten through second graders.

All of the children were enthusiastic, smart as whips, and so much fun to be around. They asked a slew of questions like, “Did you really write this book?” to “How old are you?” They had me laughing until I had tears in my eyes.

I’m thankful to Angie Messick, Media Specialist and Amy Pagano, Principal, for making my afternoon so enjoyable. These ladies really know how to treat a guest at their school. I not only received a lot of love from the students, but I left with warm wishes and a goody bag!

Amy Pagano is a great photographer and got some great shots that I’ll place on my Facebook page.

Amy also knows how to take some videos, and she caught this interchange with the students after I finished reading the story. I asked them what they learned from the story, and here is just a sampling of what I got in response. Just check out this really quick video, and you will definitely leave this post with a smile on your face – my gift to you as we start the weekend.

I’m telling you, visiting with students is the best part of a children’s author’s job! I am so looking forward to visiting with Immaculata Catholic School on Monday and Sacred Heart Catholic School on Friday of next week. What a tough job: making children smile!

Happy weekend one and all! Smile!
