Find Joy This Christmas Season

Joy

Find JoyJoy is a deep and lasting feeling of contentment and happiness graced by the Holy Spirit. For me, deep and abiding joy comes to me when I reflect on God’s love for me – that unconditional love that will never end. I also experience a deep and abiding sense of joy when I think of how much my husband loves me, because his love for me is a manifestation of God’s love for me. My list could go on, but I have a question for you. How do you find joy in your life?

Christmas – The Season of Joy

We also find joy at Christmastime, when we reflect on the Word made flesh – the Incarnation. “For God so Continue reading

What Does Jesus Want for His Birthday?

As we near Christmas Day, I want to take some time to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! May the celebration of the Incarnation of Christ fill your hearts with His Love, Peace, Joy and Hope. At Christmas, Jesus showers us with many virtues, as His gifts to us. What do you think Jesus would like from you, in return, as His birthday present from you?

Maybe He would like for you to reach out to a relative, or neighbor, who is suffering. You could grace that person with caring compassion. Perhaps He would like for you to forgive a co-worker, or friend, who has wronged you. You could extend that person a little mercy. Might it Continue reading

A Shepherd’s Song, A Christmas Romance- Book Review

A Shepherd's Song A Shepherd’s Song, by Janice Lane Palko, is a wonderful Christmas romance, set in snowy Pittsburgh, PA, on the campus of Three Rivers University. The lead character, Tom Shepherd, a declared atheist, finds more than romance, with Gloria Davidson, in this Christmas tale. Gloria, a devout Catholic, shines the light of true Christmas spirit directly into Tom Shepherd’s heart. What awaits him, is all that he ever desired: to love and to be loved. In the end, isn’t that what we all look for in this life: to love and be loved?

What we learn at the start of the book is that Tom and his college roommate are toy scalpers; selling an “in-demand” Christmas toy for exorbitant prices. Continue reading

Receive Christ’s Love This Christmas

Christmas Wish Christ's Love It’s almost time to celebrate Jesus’ birthday! Christmas is almost here! I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! If you are traveling, safe travels.

As we close out 2016, and look forward, with hope, to 2017, I want to share with you one of my favorite Christmas carols, performed by the late Bing Crosby and the late David Bowie. It’s called, Little Drummer Boy. The message of the song is that one little child “can give all the love he can.”

Enjoy the video, then read my comments below on how we can take this message and bring it to life this Christmas season.

Seven Stories for Christmas Book Review

Seven Stories

Christmas Gift Idea

Christmas stories add to the joy of the Christmas season, and Seven Stories for Christmas by Henry von Blumenthal, provides a wonderful take on the birth and life of Jesus from St. Luke’s perspective. Mr. von Blumenthal takes us back in time, to when St. Luke was doing his research for, what we today call, the Gospel according to St. Luke. In his research, Luke, known as Dr. Lucan, first visited with Mary to learn what Jesus was like as a child. He then met up with Zacchaeus, the tax collector to hear his story of what Jesus was like. Mr. von Blumenthal weaves through each chapter discussing other pertinent characters and their telling of Christ’s Continue reading

Little Lamb Finds Christmas – Book Review

Little Lamb Finds Christmas

Christmas is on its way, whether you are ready for it or not! What better way to get your Christmas shopping started than with the purchase of a beautifully illustrated book about the very first Christmas morning of Christ’s birth! This lovely story, written by Catherine C. Gilmore, presents the morning of Christ’s birth from the animals point of view, that of a lamb, but also of a lion. The lamb represents the young and weak of society, and the lion represents the strong and mature; where both come together and recognize the babe as their King and true leader. This is a wonderful story to teach children that we can be different, looking at life differently, yet be united Continue reading

Merry Christmas to all of my family and friends. Merry Christmas to my followers, who this past year have become my friends. Your interaction with me through Google +, Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in, Pinterest and www.catholicbloggersnetwork.com have been an inspiration to me. Sharing in God’s love with you has been a source of joy for me. As we move into 2015 together, may we find God in the virtues, and make His presence known to those around us by practicing the virtues to live a happier life!

May God bless you and yours this Christmas season, and may you have a happy and safe new year!

All the best for 2015!

Christ’s Peace,
