Book Launch Party Celebration

Book Launch Celebration!

This weekend, I took some time out from blogging, marketing, and business development to celebrate the book launch of Adventures of Faith, Hope, and Charity – Finding Patience. What a treat it was for me to see the children gravitate to the book, pick it up and begin to read it, right there on the spot amidst party attendees!

The icing on the cake came when the youngest child, Patrick, looked up after finishing the story and declared with a huge smile on his face, “This is the best book I ever read!” I have to admit that I was sweating bullets while he was reading the book because everyone knows that children only know to Continue reading

Winners of the Blog Tour Giveaway

FHC Final Girls 2

Before announcing the winners of the blog tour giveaway, I must first thank each of the blog tour participants who gave of their time and craft freely to assist me in promoting the publication of my new book, Adventures of Faith, Hope, and Charity – Finding Patience. All ten of these people are winners in my book, when it comes to being talented bloggers. Each person brought a different perspective to the reviews of the book. We had people with theology degrees, providing theological nuances captured within the story. We had radio talk show hosts speak to what they know audiences look for when contemplating the purchase of a new children’s book. We had teachers express their thoughts, knowing Continue reading

Finding Patience: A Hare’s Testimonial

FHC Pic for Cathy

Thanks Virginia, for allowing me to guest post today in what is a delightful twist on the fabled literary pair: the tortoise and the hare.

As CatherineCGilmore@myeasterbunny on Twitter, I’m the “Easter Bunny who spreads the sweet love and JOY of the risen Jesus.” This persona grew out of my collaboration with my sister in creating the storybook, Easter Bunny’s Amazing Day, in which a frightened little bunny discovers that the JOY of Easter is Jesus!

So in charming irony, this bunny is here to celebrate my friend, Virginia Lieto’s book that sports an adorable turtle as the icon of the virtue that was most elusive to Aesop’s rabbit… PATIENCE.

Celebration time!

Adventures of Faith, Hope, and Charity – Finding Patience is a book for children ages 4-8, who need to learn the value of being patient. This book teaches children that virtues are graces that come from God. He will never say no to a request for a virtue such as patience. For children, it is difficult to wait for anything! It is through prayer that Faith, the oldest of three sisters, learns how God works within her, in His time, to help her grow in patience.

What sets this book apart is that God is at the center of this story, with actual children learning patience; not inanimate objects, so often depicted in other children’s books. The human Continue reading

Reason to Celebrate

Come celebrate the launch of my new book, Adventures of Faith, Hope, and Charity: Finding Patience. Without you, it won’t be a party! You are the reason to celebrate this event. This book was written for your children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with you, all of us participating on the tour, share a common love for children and a desire to pass on the Christian faith to them.  These folks are moms, dads, and grandparents, just like you! Some of these folks wear multiple hats. They are authors, teachers/professors, book reviewers, radio hosts, and there’s even another children’s book author in the bunch, Cathy Gilmore, who will be guest posting on my website Continue reading

Ta-Da! Here is the long awaited cover for my new book, Adventures of Faith, Hope, and Charity – Finding Patience. I hope that you like it!

The turtle on the cover represents patience. Ever see a turtle crossing the street? It takes foreverrrrrrr! If a turtle is to move at it’s own pace, then we must be patient and wait for it to cross the street on its own. Somewhere within the body of the book, your children and grandchildren will find the turtle, if they look hard enough for it.

On a grander scale, the story centers on the oldest daughter Faith who has moved to Continue reading
