Pray for Holiness: 3 Day Quote Challenge, Day 1

September 21, 2015

AFamilyThatPraysTogetherMelanie Jean Juneau, of Joy of Nine 9, noted for her sense of humor, and motherly skills, has tagged me for the Three Day Quote Challenge. I’m always up for a challenge, so thanks Melanie for the honor of participating in this little endeavor to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The rules of this challenge:

  1. Post one quotation a day for three days (they can be from other sources or one of your own).
  2. Nominate 3 other bloggers to participate per post.
  3. Thank the blogger who nominated you.

Being one to blog about the virtues, of course, my quotes will center on the virtues that bring us to holiness. There are so many to choose from, it is going to be hard to pick. However, with the World Meeting of Families occurring this week, I think my quotes will touch on how virtue starts in the family, moves out to the workplace and into society.

The family that prays together stays together.” – Father Patrick Peyton C.S.C., Servant of God

The more we pray, the more united to Christ we become; the holier we become! For when we are praying, we move away from sinful behavior. We move towards Christ, in an attempt to live a Christ-like life. As a family, pray this week for those attending the World Meeting of Families. Pray for a fruitful outcome to this series of meetings. Pray that God’s will be done. Pray for Pope Francis. Pray that he is able to touch the hearts of those that walk the Halls of Congress; that our congresspersons will once again embrace moral virtue and do what is right in God’s eyes. Pray for those being persecuted for their faith. Pray for the unborn. Pray for the refugees of Syria and other war-torn areas of the world. Pray to increase in holiness. Pray for Peace.

As I provide two more days of quotes, will you join me in praying for holiness?
