“Living a Virtuous Life” Day Retreat

Living a Virtuous Life RetreatThis past weekend, I was honored to present my “Living a Virtuous Life” day retreat to my home parish. I have to admit, that I was nervous at first. I kept thinking about the biblical passage where Jesus wasn’t accepted within His own home town of Nazareth (Luke 4:14-30). Would my own parish family treat me the same? It wasn’t like I was claiming “Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing” (Luke 4:21), but I was proclaiming what we as followers of Christ need to do to become more Christ-like; more virtuous. I kept Continue reading

New Book Needs Your Input

new-books-hi

I have decided to write a new book on the virtues; this time for adults, because of the apparent hunger I see to learn more about how to incorporate the virtues into one’s life. Many of you share your struggles with me, and some of you share your successes at mastering certain virtues.  I would like for you to be a part of this book!

People’s stories of success and/or failure resonate well with readers. Therefore, I would like to include in the book, stories, your stories, of success or challenge in mastering virtue. If you would like to Continue reading

I Knew Him in the Womb…

I just had to share with all of you the most amazing story of a young man that I know. Patrick Sewak is all of six years old, nearing seven. He is an extraordinary young man filled with virtue, and blessed by God; destined to become God’s servant. He is raised by his wonderful mother, Meris, and by his grandparents Mark and Bernadette.

Patrick is “different” from the average child, and I say that in a good way. He yearns to attend daily Mass with his grandmother. At home he “plays Mass.” This child Continue reading

Virtuous

What does the word “virtuous” conjure up in your mind? Are you thinking of someone who is holier than thou? Are you thinking that it’s definitely not you? Well, think again! We are an imperfect people, striving for perfection that will be obtained in the next life. But for today, we are all on a journey, working our way home to Heaven! In this Continue reading

Adventure for Faith, Hope and Charity

November 9, 2015

FHC Cover Lifesavers FontAdventure it was for Faith, Hope and Charity Livingstone (my three main characters in my new book) as the girls made their debut visit at a book signing this past weekend. My husband and I had a blast meeting people from all walks of life at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church’s World Feast. The weather wasn’t very cooperative, (lots of rain) and thusly, attendance was down, but that didn’t stop the festivities. There was great food, games and entertainment for one and all – a true family entertainment experience. We had an open house for our new parish office building Continue reading
